Belongings out of the window first: an escape from Bernauer Straße 3 or 4
On the evening of 22 August 1961 an unknown person threw belongings out of a window of Bernauer Straße 3 or 4 and fled to West Berlin.
At 9.55 p.m. on 22 August 1961 the Mitte police passed on a report made at 8.50 p.m. by a lieutenant: a so far unknown person had thrown things out of the window of Bernauer Straße 3 or 4 and fled to West Berlin. A supplementary report was to follow.
At the same time, the entry continues, a young girl jumped from a window of Bernauer Straße 7, at the corner of Ackerstraße, and was injured; the West Berlin police took her away.
