Four men are caught on the timber yard in Wildenbruchstraße
On 16 August 1961 riot police caught four men born in 1943 and 1944, from Oberschöneweide, Kaulsdorf and Mahlsdorf, as they tried to get into West Berlin over the timber yard in Wildenbruchstraße, Treptow.
The operations staff of the riot police's 1st Brigade reported at 8.05 a.m. on 16 August 1961 that, according to base 8, riot policemen had that day stopped four people trying to reach West Berlin over the timber yard in Wildenbruchstraße in Treptow.
They were Dieter K. (born 1944, Oberschöneweide), Joachim-Wolfgang J. (born 1943, Kaulsdorf), Manfred Z. (born 1943, Kaulsdorf) and Detlef W. (born 1944, Mahlsdorf). All four were taken to police station 231.
