Two men at the Späthbrücke: one swims, one walks over the bridge
At 6.15 p.m. on 16 August 1961 two men went to West Berlin at the Späthbrücke – one swimming, the other on foot over the bridge – without the police on duty there stopping them.
According to a Treptow police report of 6.40 p.m. on 16 August 1961, two men went to West Berlin at the 'Späth-Brücke Johannisthal' at 6.15 p.m. without the police officers on duty there stopping them.
One of them swam; the other walked across the bridge.

At about 10 a.m. on 13 August 1961 a young girl undressed to her underwear at the Flutgraben near Lohmühlenstraße, jumped in and swam to West Berlin, where the crowd there 'received' her.
