A railway-works employee lowers himself on a rope in Onckenstraße
According to a Stasi report of 22 August 1961, a man who had worked at the Treptow railway repair works left his flat in Onckenstraße by means of a rope and went to West Berlin.
The Stasi report of 22 August 1961 lists among the breakthroughs of the reporting period a man who had been employed at the Reichsbahn repair works (RAW) in Treptow. He left his flat in Onckenstraße by means of a rope and went to West Berlin.
The same report also recorded two jumps from border houses on Bernauer Straße: Ida Siekmann jumped from the third floor of No. 48 onto West Berlin ground (according to Western reports she died on the way to hospital), and a young girl jumped from the first floor of No. 7 and was injured.
