In the night of 9 to 10 June 1972 a 15-year-old East German boy escaped over the Berlin Wall into the West Berlin district of Neukölln, the police reported on 10 June. He had apparently crossed without being noticed by the East German border guards.
He was reunited with relatives in the West. The report gives no name and no exact place.

Two young friends from Falkensee crossed the border strip at Falkenhöh with a ladder from a garden shed. Dieter Krause got over the last fence under fire; Klaus Schulze, who had tripped, was shot in the chest.
