Two women and a child jump from a first-floor flat in Waldemarstraße
On 5 September 1961 two women with a child jumped from a first-floor flat in Waldemarstraße onto West Berlin territory.
According to the Stasi report covering 4 to 7 September 1961, properties right on the border were another focal point of escapes to West Berlin, with people in several cases getting out through upper-floor windows. On 5 September two women with a child jumped from a first-floor flat in Waldemarstraße onto West Berlin territory.
The report listed it alongside a jump by two men in Bernauer Straße, a family helped down by the West Berlin fire brigade at Ackerstraße 43, and a rope escape from Dresdener Straße 114 the next day.
