On the evening of 17 September 1961 three people let themselves down on a rope from the corner house at Brunnenstraße 138.
On the evening of 17 September 1961 three people let themselves down on a rope from the corner house at Brunnenstraße 138 into West Berlin.
The house stood at the corner of Brunnenstraße and Bernauer Straße. As with the other border houses, the pavement in front of it belonged to West Berlin.
The memorial marker does not name the three escapees.
