Wolga car on the Glienicke Bridge
Two men from Potsdam tried to ram a Wolga M 21 through the barriers on the Glienicke Bridge but were stopped at the very first gate.
On 9 December 1987 Axel D. (22) and Bernd S. (27), both from Potsdam-Bornstedt, tried to break through the barriers on the Glienicke Bridge in a Wolga M 21. Bernd S. had applied to leave the GDR without success.
The car hit the closed entrance gate of the military lane and tore off one side of the gate, but was thrown against the gate post and stopped at the first obstacle.
Both men were arrested and taken to the Stasi remand prison in Potsdam.
